No, there should not be any impeachment for President Muhammadu Buhari at the dying seconds of his administration. We have to wait it out. We pray for a responsible administration come 2023.

Hi Prof,

We the people should insist on having, and make it happen, a new constitution that devolves power to the constituent/federating parts, that make up the geographic entity called Nigeria.

Nigeria should be federal on paper and indeed and not a skewed unitary democratic system on a 4 year election cycle. The Colonialist West of old (Europe/its successor USA) and China (new) are the architects of our dilemma and would not desire a change in the statusquo.

We should never look towards them for any solution, that will stabilize us and break their economic stranglehold.

My hope and prayer is that the Sorosoke, generation with their vast Technological knowledge and reach, will do it for themselves, for we the ‘Independence’ children have failed woefully.

Prof, it's not just shell. In line with their commitment to Environmental, Social, and governance(ESG) policy, Oil companies all over the world reduced their capital expenditures. Even Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil producer has since begun diversifying their economy, reducing their dependence on oil revenue. But of course Nigeria's rulers who are unimaginative like you said, never had any plan for a post oil Nigeria.

Because there was abundant revenue from oil, Nigeria was able to paper over and cover up the rot in it's system. There was a false perception of a functioning government because almighty petro dollar was there to keep the lights on, and government running. But with the fall in proceeds from oil, that life support machine has been switched off, and the country is finally beginning to unravel at it's should.

I don't see any of the three major candidates fixing Nigeria's ever expanding mountain of problems. Domination by the Hausa-Fulani in the armed forces is the main problem with Nigeria. Tinubu can't do it, neither can Obi, and I don't see Atiku addressing that issue as that would be political suicide for him and his people.

This corrupt rulers are leaders too, Prof. After all, incompetent rulers like Buhari still have supporters. And it's not like Nigerians haven't tried removing this "rulers" from power. Okey you forget that in addition to being incompetent and corrupt, Nigeria's rulers are also blood thirsty, and each time there was a popular uprising, they'd call out soldiers to shoot and kill. It didn't matter if it was a peaceful mass protest or not, Nigeria's rulers hate the idea of any mass action of disapproval against their government. Of course mass actions are supported by politicians until they themselves get into power.
